From the buzzling streets of Toronto and the shores of Lake Ontario, I am hoping to share some insights about life in Canada, and maybe sometimes just about life in general.

When I first moved to Canada (from the Netherlands) in the spring of 2006, I started a blog about life in Alberta, Canada. This blog would eventually lead to the publication of my book “Van Polder tot Rockies” (in Dutch) in 2008, which in itself was a great adventure.

Since then many things have happened, some good and some not so good. Raising a daughter, born in a small town just south of Calgary; a few (too many) moves within this area and lots of time spent in the beautiful Rocky Mountains would unfortunately sort of force me to stop writing my blog.

However, after moving to Toronto, Ontario and starting a new chapter in our Canadian adventure, I decided to give this another go :). Over the years I have met many people from all over the world, especially when working with newcomers to Calgary, Alberta.

I am always intrigued when listening to stories from people adjusting to life in Canada. Of course, this has led to many reflections regarding my own move to this part of the world. After more than 15 years in Alberta, and exploring five Canadian provinces, it looks like we will spend some time here in the Great Lakes area. New adventures await :).

Please feel free to explore the adventures of this Dutch-Indonesian girl, living in Canada. I would love to hear from you, whether you have a question, a suggestion or ideas for future blog posts. You can contact me via the contact page.

♡ Sending smiles and good vibes from the Great Lakes ♡
